I just can't help myself when the moon is out. I take so many photos of the moon, it's almost comical. I got some great shots in Maine this past week with my family. It was a little hard to keep focus of the moon while on the boat, but I got some great captures overall. I want to work more getting long exposure shots in the future, so for the next week I will be researching locations so I can take more. Hopefully for the upcoming eclipse I will be able to get some good shots while in Charlotte!
I spent the day on a vinyard in Skaneateles for a family photoshoot. It was lovely weather out, and we picked up a fantastic bottle of Pinot Grigio after we had finished. Skaneateles has so many beautiful locations to shoot at. It was hard not to stop at every location we scouted.
When I am taking pictures I typically try to shoot in the woods, or more typically in fields. The reason I choose these locations for shooting is because it allows to accentuate the beauty of the individual or family being captured. Placing people in natural surroundings allows the eye to be entertained by not only the individual but also the surrounding making the photo more mesmerizing. I love scouting out locations for shooting portrait photography. The adventure keeps me on the edge of my seat, and when I do find the perfect location the feeling of a successful search keeps me wanting more.
This morning Hiatt and I woke up early for a 6:00 am photoshoot. We went to this incredible field to capture the morning light on the lake. Hiatt also managed to take some photos of me, which were greatly appreciated since I haven't gotten a picture of myself to post online in a while.
